Chicago Critics Film Festival

05-12-2017 to 05-18-2017 - THE CHICAGO CRITICS FILM FESTIVAL returns to the Music Box for its Fifth Anniversary! The only current example of a major film critics group hosting its own festival, the week-long event offers a selection of films comprised of recent festival favorites and as-yet-undistributed works from a wide variety of award-winning and emerging filmmakers, all chosen by members of the organization.

The Chicago Critics Film Festival is pleased to announce 22 local feature premieres, two full-length programs of short films and a retrospective screening of a cult classic. The program will include the local premieres of some of the talked-about titles on the festival circuit featuring stars like Harry Dean Stanton, Alison Brie, David Lynch, Burt Reynolds, Ariel Winter, Michael Cera, Jessica Williams, Adam Pally, Teresa Palmer and Taylor Schilling.

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Homeroom joins forces with Comfort Music, Comfort Station's weekly music series to curate musical performances every Thursday for the month of August. Improvisers from Chicago's jazz scene split bills with rock, folk, world music and drone artists in four unique evenings of music that align two Homeroom series, the Songwriter Showcase and Ten x Ten. Continuing Comfort Music's tradition of presenting two cross-genre performances each week, Homeroom took advantage of the opportunity to cross-pollinate their two long-running music programs.

Hosted by comedienne Plucky Rosenthal, LIVE TALK: May Day!, will feature globally-influenced pop music with Ami Saraiya, performances by multidisciplinary artists Udita Upadhyaya and Alexis Atwill, plus spoken word artists to be announced.

Part performance, part live talk show, Pivot Arts’ monthly LIVE TALK Series includes quirky performances, interviews, live music and the Pivot DIY, an interactive audience segment. LIVE TALK is an evening meant to bring us together around the arts and meaningful discussions.

The Associate Board of Cinema/Chicago is proud to announce their 2017 screening series, in partnership with the Public Hotel Chicago, Stella Artois and Wansas Tequila. Flicks at the Public presents screenings at The Public Hotel's plush screening room featuring some of the most beloved classic films of recent memory.

For the 2017 series, the Associate Board presents monthly screenings in two four-film programs: Totally ‘90s and Batter Up!, screening new classics from the ‘90s and favorite baseball films (Go Cubs!) in a deluxe lounge setting on top-notch exhibition technology.
